Ing.arch. Peter ŠIMO-SVRČEK (22.5.1950-1.7.2006) stood at the beginnings
and this tournament shall be organized also for his tribute...
It was exactly thirty years ago-in the summer of 1976-when the first badminton tournament of Nové Zámky region was organized. Unbelievably the tournaments title was: International Championships of the Šimo-Svrček Family. Its winner was Ing.arch. Peter Šimo-Svrček, who was the best without any doubt. He stood at the first steps made by badminton team of the town on tournaments (in 1981). Although his health and age permitted him less and less, he had been always an active member of New Castle devilS (ČERTi Nové Zámky), because he was a sportsman in body and soul. This man will not see this years International Championships of Slovakia – honour to his memory.
